In order to control your mailing list subscription via email, you need to send requests to majordomo@lists.gno.org. Majordomo ignores subject lines; all commands are given in the BODY of the message, one command per line.
In order to subscribe to a mailing list, you should send mail with the following line in the BODY of the message:
subscribe LISTNAMEwhere LISTNAME is the name of the target mailing list. The above command uses the name and address that you have configured into your email client. If you would like more control over your name and address, you can use the following command:
subscribe LISTNAME "Your Real Name" <YourID@Your.Domain>If your email client likes to wrap long lines for you, you can tell majordomo that multiple lines are really one by using the backslash as a line break:
subscribe LISTNAME "Your Real Name" \(This is true of all majordomo commands.)
<YourID@Your.Domain>
In order to unsubscribe from a mailing list, you should mail majordomo with the following command:
unsubscribe LISTNAME
Many more commands are available including those that allow you to customize how your mailing list entries will appear, whether you receive them individually or as a digest, and so forth. For information on the various commands, you can send the following message to majordomo:
